Headley hit .262 with six home runs in 58 games for the Yankees after being acquired from San Diego in July. He slashed .243/.328/.372 with 13 homers overall.
The 30-year-old third baseman had a career year in 2012, hitting .286 with 31 homers and 115 RBIs. He hasn't matched those numbers since, but showed a bit more power in New York after getting out of pitcher-friendly Petco Park.
Headley is a career .265/.347/.409 hitter with 93 homers in eight Major League seasons and won a 2012 National League Gold Glove Award.
